A Louis XVI style silvered metal and Lapis Lyre form mantle clock, by A. Chapus, La Gerbe D'Or, late 19th century, the lyre form case surmounted by a bell form finial, above rod form strings within an acanthus detailed neck and ending at budding leafy side terminals, suspending ribbon tied laurel swags over the tapering acanthus leaf wrapped case, enclosing a berried laurel and glass domed bezel opening to a circular white enamel dial with black Arabic quarter hour numerals before larger hour numbers, within a ring of handpainted blossoming swags centering reticulated silvered metal hands and twin key escapements beneath the black inscribed "LA GERBE D'OR / A. CHAPUS / 86 RUE DE RIVOLI / PARIS".
Door opening to brass clockworks stamped with an oval "LA GERBE D'OR / A. CHAPUS / PARIS / RUE DE RIVOLI 86," numbered 7276 and stamped with pastille "MEDAILLE DE BRONZE / S. Marti et Cie," over number 48, includes pendulum.
